Our Story - Teddy Edwards Cutting Rooms

Teddy Edwards (affectionately known as Teddy’s) was created by award-winning barber Alex Burt back in 2013.

Having worked as both a barber and a hairdresser, Alex realised a great destination for hair needs to be a balance of brilliant customer experience and outstanding service. He set about creating a brand that bridged the gap between a hairdressers and a barbers with a strong barbering identity.

Today Teddy’s has two locations, in Seven Dials, Brighton and next to the station in Hove. They’re destination barbershops for men’s hair cutting and styling; men’s hair colour; shaving and skincare.

His team of passionate and talented barbers all bring their own unique skills and personality to the mix to deliver an experience that has something for every man.

We were recently shortlisted for the biggest award in barbering, Wahl’s British Barbershop of the Year and have been finalists for the Best Overall Barber at the Modern Barber Awards for two successive years.

Alex comes with a big reputation – and even bigger barbering skills.

In 2023, he was shortlisted as the Best Overall Barber in the whole of the UK at the Modern Barber Awards and he’s been made a name for himself in the industry as a member of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Project Men, an exclusive team that showcases the best of men’s hair, and an ambassador for Matakki scissors.

Alex’s work has been featured in leading barbering magazines Modern Barber, Barber Evo and many more and he is known for sharing his barbering skills on stage at numerous industry events.

He’s also worked behind the scenes at London Fashion Week, styling hair for Kent and Curwen (David Beckham’s label) and for Fendi at Milan Fashion Week.
